Festival of Sardines

The festival of sardines is organized in August.
A new festival that attracts more people every year.
Benitses once was the largest fishing village in Corfu, so it was very natural to have a celebration dedicated to a fish like the sardine.
On the day of the feast large quantities of sardines cooked and offered for free to all visitors, it is of course not possible to miss the various traditional bands and partying till late.
